Durga India

Durga is a citizen sector initiative of I’m Every Woman trust, founded in 2013, with a vision of witnessing public spaces that are equally occupied by people of all intersectional identities for commute, leisure and other activities. Durga has collaborated with government systems, unions and educational institutions and work directly with various communities in Bangalore who face multiple vulnerabilities and ensure we leave them with power to address their issues in their own way.

Sexual Harassment Workshop

Durga organised a workshop  on recognising early signs of abuse and harassment, and how to combat the same. The workshop was also designed to help people who are closely associated  with victims of sexual harassment to better understand and support victims through the process  of recovery. LSC also conducted an LLP at a school for rescued  children, with Durga in May, 2019.

Be A Durga Handbook

In 2018, LSC  revamped a booklet designed by Durga to address commonly faced issues by providing  clear, concise explanations of points of law with explanations and commentary to make the law  more accessible.  The book was redone in 2025 to reflect Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) provisions A simplified FAQ structure was chosen for enhanced accessibility. Storyboards and illustrations were also incorporated.
